Who could my students work for?
We have placements available for students studying a wide range of degrees. The most popular sectors for placement years are banking, finance, retail, accountancy, engineering and IT. However, there really are placements available in most industries with a large variety of roles. Becoming more popular are a variety of roles such as business management, marketing and HR.
Most placements will give you a great insight into what a graduate scheme will be like within that organisation or industry. They are an amazing way of your students finding out what they may (or may not) want to do when they graduate. It is also a fantastic way for your students to be in the best position possible for when they graduate.
How can I get my students excited?
We love nothing more than getting students enthusiastic about work experience. Here at RMP headquarters we are all exceptionally passionate about it and we want this enthusiasm to spread!
- Use stats – students love the cold, hard facts!
- Get third years to relay their placement experiences
- Make examples relevant and up-to-date
- Encourage talks from industry experts and recruiters

Our Top Employers Guide is based on our student written reviews, every year we take into account the reviews and this forms our publication, A Student’s Guide to the Top Placement & Internship Employers! We can send you copies of our guide to give to your students and there is an online version which you can view here.
