BenHello everyone!

It seems a long time since I last posted a blog, so many things happening and money disappearing!

When I left you last time I was having a week off, to have a night out (21st Birthday) this was a good night, but a bad morning! Unfortunately for me it was a guy’s birthday from Outokumpu and I was stopping at my managers house, I got a little bit too drunk and in the morning I didn’t feel too well, you know how these things go!! But I was at my manager’s house, was he happy? who knows. Did it bring us closer? possibly. Would I do it again? Definitely.

Curry, Beer and Cricket

Then I had a case of deja vu as the exact same thing happened when I went to Leeds, this maybe due to Manchester United performing very badly. So when I came back to work I was talk of the team due to my shenanigans at the weekend. But as a kind surprise to me, my managers had arranged for me to go and see the 20twenty cricket with them as a gift for my time at Outokumpu, this turned out to be a great night with plenty of lager and curry, plus a lot of laughs. This has been a good month for me and perhaps the best month of my placement so far!

Ok then, placement time, well I am coming towards the end of my time here and I finish on the 31st July and then shoot off to ZANTE!!! So now I am trying my best to get my work placement assignment completed before the 26th June, I am currently doing quite well on it but it is difficult to get back into doing essays after so long out of the game! Things have also started picking up this month at work and more and more orders are coming in, infact we actually hit a profit for the first time this year. The big issue in not reaching a profit this year has been the de-valuation in the stock which we are holding, and they are trying their best to move the stock. I am trying to cram everything in before I leave and pick up as much experience as I can, possibly I maybe doing Mike’s job for a couple of weeks after he leaves, joy? But at least he gets to train me up to be a master in nesting!!

So not long left to go, and I would imagine a lot of you are preparing for placement now. All I can say is make the most of your time there and gather as much experience as you can! It can help you progress in not only your career but your university work. As now I have the opportunity to link theory to real life situations I have been in, which is a major advantage. I am quite disappointed that Mike has not been treated the same way I have whilst been here, but possibly that is how a big company operates?

Anyways bye bye!!
