Nesting times in the office…

Sunday, 1st February 2009

Michael

Right so I had my first week of nesting on my own last week and thought I was doing a pretty good job. No one brought anything back saying it was wrong and even my manager came in and said i was doing a good job. However when the Nesting legend got back on the Thursday, (I’d been on my one Mon - Wed), he was not a happy man. Turns out I had made quite a few errors which, because no one was around to actually check my work, could only be expected I suppose. The fact that he had to sort all the errors along with nest 3 days work for the Plasma machines, which someone else was supposedly doing, put him in a pretty bad mood to say the least.

Angry boss

Make sure you get a placement with a company which is going to spend a large amount of time training you, I haven’t had that here and when I make mistakes, instead of people explaining what I have done wrong, they simply get annoyed and blame you, which doesnt make for the most motivated work force.

BUT, it’s nearly the weekend though haha and I have a couple of 21st parties to attend in the next few weeks which should be good, and then i’m going to have to sort out my own, god know what i’m going to do, any suggestions readers? Who knows, i may even have some more pictures for you all if the parties are full of girls with there cameras taking random photos which they seem to always do on nights out!!

Stay safe readers and i shall communicate with you using the powers of my blogs again shortly!!

  • What is nesting then?? Do you work in a nature reserve?

    Claire – 3rd Feb 2009

  • Haha no not a nature reserve. Nesting is where I put order onto plates of steel. Someone draws up exactly what the order will look like using CAD then i choose a plate we have in stock and try and fit as many orders onto it as possible. Bit like tetris!!

  • What is CAD then?? Only joking. So you play a giant game of tetris then, how do we apply?
