So, I’m about half way through my placement now, not really feeling I have learnt as much as maybe I should have done by now, but I’ve learnt a lot about office life! My placement support tutor is visiting me next week to see how I am getting on etc. For the past week I’ve been training people up to take over the taste panels, which I’ve really enjoyed, as I am needed elsewhere. Although there isn’t a lot to learn I was surprised at how quickly they learnt it! One of our sort of ‘sister’ companies are having problems so we are taking over some of their products in Feb/ March therefore it is going to be a rush to set everything up on our computer system and update all of the factory paperwork. This also means some of the employees are coming to work at our place so theres a lot of new faces around and the business is getting bigger!

After reading the other blogs, it does seem better to take a placement in a company who takes on a lot of placement students as the social side seems a lot better. In my placement, I am the only placement student at the moment and I don’t think they have had anyone before me so when I started they didn’t really know what to do with me! Now though I have a lot more to do and am now in more of a routine which is better!
